The intimacy of a house, the light of a penthouse

On the border between Vila de Gràcia and the Eixample, this 170 sq m duplex penthouse unfolds across two levels and several outdoor spaces, culminating in a generous rooftop overlooking Barcelona.

We conceived the duplex as a private house in which sunlight enters generously throughout the day. From the entrance, an elegant bespoke white steel screen echoes the original steel-framed door opening onto the central patio. Beyond it lies an expansive open kitchen connected to the living and dining areas in a sequence of light-filled spaces. A custom-designed staircase leads to the rooftop.

The project draws on a refined Mediterranean vocabulary: off-whites, creams and greiges, clay and terracotta tones, dark timber, woven cane and restrained touches of olive. The three bedrooms, each conceived as an intimate suite, continue this warm, sun-washed palette in an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and sophisticated.
