A discreet retreat in Santa Caterina, moments from the Palau de la Música

A few steps from the Palau de la Música, this apartment appeared to have exhausted every possibility. Severely deteriorated, heavily compartmentalised and perched on the third floor of a building without a lift, it nevertheless offered unusual potential: triple orientation, beautiful natural light and a small terrace overlooking a leafy inner courtyard.

The renovation completely reorganised the plan to allow light to circulate and restore a more generous sense of space. The remaining period features were retained and brought back into focus, while the new interiors were conceived in a fluid, welcoming and contemporary architectural language.

The kitchen now opens onto the living room, which extends naturally to the terrace facing the quiet courtyard. Only a few square metres, yet enough to create a serene, light-filled refuge in the heart of one of Barcelona’s liveliest neighbourhoods.
