A Vila de Gràcia apartment reimagined around its hydraulic tiles and natural light

In a period building in Vila de Gràcia, this apartment retained magnificent original hydraulic tiles with graphic and floral motifs, together with its historic joinery. It also benefited from an unusually generous configuration: three open aspects towards the street, inner block and planted courtyard, bringing daylight and greenery deep into the home.

We opened and reorganised the plan to amplify this natural light while celebrating the original architecture. The entirely white kitchen is deliberately restrained, allowing the patterned floors and Catalan vaults to lead, while microcement, exposed beams and cleaner lines introduce a contemporary dimension.

Providència is an exercise in restraint, where decorative richness, light and simplicity find a measured balance.
